Poi Making
Poi - traditionally used by the Maori women by swinging them to a rhythm whilst dancing. This is a great way to improve flexibility and strength in your hands and arms as well as coordination.
What you would need:
Foam
Wool
Plastic bag
Scissors
Cello tape

How to make it:
- Roll the black wool 20 times around your fingers to make the tassle and leave aside.
- Cut out four lengths of wool.

3. Double the lengths of wool and tie the tassle roll in the middle of the wool lengths.
4. Cut the ends of the black wool to form the tassles.

5. Seperate the lengths of wool into four parts.

6. Start braiding the lengths of wool until you have about 20cm of unbraided wool leftover. Tie a knot at the end of the braid.

7. Use the ends of the leftover lengths to tie around the foam. Make a secure knot.
8. Place plastic bag securely around the foam and secure with cello tape. Repeat this step two more times.
9. Cut the plastic around the ball.

10. Wind a piece of red wool at the base of the poi and a piece of black above that.
