Playdough
Making playdough together is a wonderful opportunity to explore numeracy and science. You can work with your little ones, providing them with a bowl and a wooden spoon for mixing and measuring equipment. Remember, don’t be too fussy on exact quantities - whatever you end up with will be fun!
Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 ½ cups salt
6 tsps cream of tartar
3 Tbsps cooking oil
3 cups boiling water
1 tsp peppermint extract (optional)
Food colouring (optional)
Method
Mix the dry ingredients and cooking oil together. Then add peppermint extract, food colouring and boiling water. Stir well until the mixture leaves the sides of the bowl. Add more flour if the mixture seems too sticky, then turn out and knead.
