Leaf Printing

Autumn is here and with it comes a burst of colour amongst the trees!  The leaves are changing colour and dropping to the ground.  We are all going on special ‘family walks’ at the moment, so it’s the perfect time to gather leaves.

All you need is:

A variety of leaves

Paints and brushes

Newspaper

Paper

You can mix the paint to create your own unique ‘autumn colours.’

I used two methods to create different pieces of art. The first involved laying a leaf on top of the paper and painting around the outside.

Peel the leaf off to see your leaf outline on the paper!

Next, paint the back of your leaf and place it firmly on your piece of paper.

It’s so neat to see what a lovely picture you can make with something as simple as a leaf!  I also like the fact we’re using natural materials!
