Astrid's Breakfast Buns!
Thanks to one of our lovely mums Astrid for this recipe!
This is a super easy recipe! The kids love them and they are really yummy.
Ingredients
· 400 g white flour
· 200 g wholegrain flour or rye flour
· Sunflower seeds (optional)
· 2 tsp salt
· 1 - 2 tsp dry yeast
· approx. 200 ml warm water
Directions
In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (white and wholemeal flour, salt, and dry yeast). Then add the warm water, whisk the mixture with a large spoon until evenly combined into a sticky but not too wet dough.
Put the dough aside, cover it with a tea towel and let it rest in a warm place for approx. 20 to 30 minutes. Afterwards the dough should have almost doubled.
Preheat the oven to 200°C and line an oven tray with baking paper.
Place the dough on a working surface well dusted with flour and knead well. Divide the dough into approx. 25 equal pieces and form either into round or long buns. Place them on the oven tray and put it in the oven. Bake for approx. 25 to 30 mins.
