ANZAC Poppy Field Painting
This art activity is something fun and easy you can create to remember ANZAC day which is this coming Saturday, 25th April.
You will need
Watercolour or acrylic paint of basic colours, red, blue, green, black and white
A pencil
A piece of white A4 size paper
A paintbrush
A cup or glass of water

Step 1: Using a pencil draw your poppy field picture. The trick is small poppy (cloud) shapes at the top of the page and then draw the poppy shapes bigger as you work down the page. Divide your picture into three sections, top, middle and bottom with wiggly lines.

Step 2: Mix your blue paint and white paint together to make a light blue, water it down and colour the top section trying to avoid the poppies you have drawn. Do the same with the light green middle section and then use a darker green (less water) to complete the bottom section and leave to dry.

Step 3: Using bright red paint (not much water) colour in your poppies. When they are dry, you can use black paint for the centre of the poppies and leave to almost dry-if you can wait!!

Step 4- Add some more details if you wish. I used some brown paint, (red and green mixed together) to paint some stems for the poppies and to give a grass like effect. I also added a little yellow at the top to represent the sunshine.

Have fun with your art, you can do anything you like because you are the artist!!
Note: Don’t worry if you can’t find any paints to make your art piece because you can also use coloured pencils, crayons or felt pens.
