A Very Hungry Caterpillar 

You will need: 

Toilet paper rolls 

Paint 

Paint dishes or plates 

Step 1. Use Kākāriki - green paint and dip the paper roll into it so that it covers the bottom. 

Step 2. Place the paper roll onto your piece of paper and press down. 

Step 3. Carefully remove the paper roll. 

Step 4. Place the paper roll back into the paint. This time place the paper roll on the edge of the previous circle. Press down. 

Step 5. Do around five circles in the Kākāriki - green colour. 

Step 6. Using a karaka- orange or a whero- red paint, create the head of the caterpillar. Place the toilet roll in the paint, so that the paint covers the bottom of the roll. 

Step 7. Place the paper roll onto your piece of paper and press down and then carefully remove the paper roll. 

Step 8. Using kōwhai- yellow, do a little dot in the head circle, near the top. Wait for the paint to dry. 

Step 9. Using a black pen, do a pupil (circle) on top of the kōwhai- yellow paint. Draw a mouth and antennas.
