Squish the Bugs
Squish the Bugs is a fun way to learn your letters and to move around.
Today, for this activity you get to draw your very own insects! Your brothers and sisters or mummy and daddy can join in too if they would like.
What you will need:
Chalk
Space outside to draw
Step 1. Using the chalk, draw your insects on the ground. Make them quite big.
Step 2. Draw one letter inside each insect. You can ask a brother, sister, mummy or daddy to help you if this is too tricky.
*You can do all 26 letters/insects or just choose a few.
Step 3. There are multiple ways you can play this game.
- Sing the alphabet and when you get to a letter that you have written, jump on that insect that has the correct letter to match what you said.
- Stand on the insect and think of different letters that start with that letter. Jump, run or walk to the next insect and repeat.
- Come up with your own way to learn your letters by using the insects and letters that you have created.
